Thrift finds from the Sunshine State

Hello friends!

Behold some of my travelling treasures! I found these two gems at a Goodwill in Sherman Oaks, CA. They were a steal too! The high waist shorts are American Apparel and originally cost about $60 - I got them for $4 USD - let's say $5 for my Canadian friends. The swim top has no tag on it, so I can't take an estimate on that one (other than it's from the 1990s) but it appears to be almost new and was also $4. I haven't decided whether I'll be throwing the swim top on Etsy...I kind of want it for myself! Will look great with my teal high waisted swim bottoms and a big floppy hat ;)

If you ever happen to be in Los Angeles, I highly recommend checking out the thrift stores there! There is a ton of high end designer shoes and clothing labels. As my one friend put it, "castoffs from the rich and famous"...I'll take that!

Snail Mail & Vintage Paper

Hello there!

I know I promised pictures from my vintage treasure hunt in LA, and I WILL get to them soon, but it's project and exam week at school so a photoshoot is sadly on the back burner :(

I did however get a chance to start a snailmail letter for one of my penpals and I'm using one of these fabulous envelopes that you see above! As someone with a strong wanderlust (and fondness for letter writing), these envelopes just make me really happy. They're homemade, by the way - by me ;) I found a stack of vintage wrapping paper at a Talize (which was pretty much a steal!) and have been pondering on what to do with it (besides using it for wrapping presents). If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

In the meantime, if you also fall in love with this vintage map paper, I do have some envelope sets for sale on the Etsy site. Feel free to check it out if you're interested!

Back from Los Angeles!

Hello friends!

So it just so happens that I just got home this weekend from a week-long trip in Los Angeles, California. It was a lovely time! Palm trees and sunshine...and a ton of shopping! I was able to check out several thrift and vintage shops during my travels and brought some treasures home with me. I'll be adding some pictures later--stay tuned! :)
